Atomic Volleyball Academy (AVA) was born from a calling that grew over time through prayer, coaching, and a deep desire to serve young athletes and families in our community.
After years of competing and coaching volleyball around the world, I found myself asking a different question:
"How can volleyball become a ministry that impacts lives beyond the game?"
As my family settled in East Tennessee, God continued to open doors, connect us with people, and provide opportunities that confirmed this vision. From conversations with local families and churches to the unexpected provision of a gym to begin training, each step reminded us that this academy is about far more than volleyball.
AVA exists because we believe God can use sports to build confidence, develop character, strengthen families, and point young people toward a life of purpose.
This academy is our family's way of serving our community through the gifts and experiences God has entrusted to us.
"Run in such a way as to get the prize."
— 1 Corinthians 9:24
Atomic Volleyball Academy exists to develop athletes spiritually, mentally, and physically through intentional volleyball training, Christ-centered mentorship, and meaningful relationships.
Our mission is to help athletes pursue excellence with discipline, integrity, humility, and perseverance, not only in volleyball but in every area of life.
We believe the greatest victories are found in becoming people of strong character who honor God through their attitude, effort, and service to others.
" Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord."
— Colossians 3:23
We pursue excellence through disciplined practice, preparation, and a commitment to continual growth.
"Let all that you do be done in love."
— 1 Corinthians 16:14
We believe great athletes are also people of integrity, kindness, humility, and respect.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart..."
— Proverbs 3:5–6
Our faith shapes the way we coach, lead, encourage, and serve. Weekly Bible studies and character lessons are integrated into our program to help athletes grow both on and off the court.
"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
— Galatians 6:2
AVA is more than a volleyball program. We are building a community where families, churches, coaches, volunteers, and local organizations work together to invest in the next generation.
We believe youth sports have the power to strengthen communities.
Our prayer is that Atomic Volleyball Academy becomes a place where families build lasting friendships, athletes discover their potential, churches partner in ministry, and our community comes together to encourage and invest in young people.
Whether through volleyball clinics, leadership opportunities, Bible studies, outreach events, or community partnerships, we desire to use this academy to make a lasting impact beyond the court.
Follow our journey as we share: Athlete development, Weekly encouragement, Coaching insights, Community outreach, Church partnerships, Camps, clinics, and academy updates.
Together, we're building more than volleyball players—we're helping develop young women who are prepared to "run in such a way as to get the prize."
